Wild-hearted herbalism needs to move beyond simply matching herbs to symptoms. The depth of healing needed in the world requires us to heal the human-earth connection and reclaim our connection with medicine plants as teachers and allies.

This 4 month herbal journey is designed to awaken your capacity to learn directly from the plants, and give you confidence and clarity in working with herbs in clinical practice, personal use and spiritual arts.

It is designed for herbalists, naturopaths, witches, plant walkers of all types and those on a wild path of healing.

This course is invite only.
The container I hold with the plants is intimate & powerful. I've learnt from experience that the more the group shows up, the deeper the group goes. This means I want to make sure each student has the capacity to be present and receptive to the plants and each other, to ensure the journey is as juicy and rich as possible for each cohort.

Here’s what you’ll get:

Module 1: Foundations of Ancient Herbalism

On Demand introduction to core principles and Embodied Plant Listening.

Welcome Class Live: 2nd July 6-7.30 pm

A self-study introduction module taking you through fun and engaging videos of core ideas and theory, covering:

  • Animism and the sentience of earth
  • The three ways of knowing (mind, body, heart)
  • How to listen to plants and ‘tune in’
  • Energetics of herbal medicine
  • Flavour theory for herbal insight

You will be guided to undertake an initial plant connection journey with a plant already in your world, as a practical application of the theory you are learning. All classes are recorded as videos, and are delivered as an interactive email course, where prompts for reflection and practice are sent to you, and all replies read and answered by the teacher.

Module 2: Animist Herbalist Retreat

Retreat Dates:

16th - 20th July 2026

This retreat in beautiful Tamborine Mountain (45 mins from Gold Coast airport) is a powerful and transformative experience.

Extensive herb gardens, a creek, hot-tub, infrared sauna and a gorgeous temple space will inspire & relax you. Camping & all delicious meals included in the price, or you can upgrade to a cosy room.

We will sit in & with nature, do group deep ecology practices, get our hands dirty in the medicine garden and use ritual, ecstatic dance & guided animist practices to go even deeper. You will awaken your eternal connection with the plant world, connect with your ancestral lineage of herbalists & integrate body, mind & soul.

Module 3: Wild Edge of Herbalism

THURSDAY EVENINGS 6-8pm: 23rd July - 8th October 2026

Twelve weeks of interactive group classes online, and at-home practice enlivened by the retreat, connected to your cohort and excited by the wild depths possible in plant connection work, we will continue our journey...

This is the core of the course; we will develop real embodied and ensouled skills to meet 5 plants. Each plant you will meet for one week without knowing what it is, and then have the opportunity to journey more deeply with them, exploring what it is like to work with them ‘aware’, to call for their support in our lives, and to grow them, plant them and prepare them in different ways.

Weekly medicine making activities and soul work reflections support you to get hands-on. We explore some ancient and subtle plants that will become indispensable in your clinical or home herbalist work.

Final Workshop: Wisdom-Making Workshop

Live Session:

SATURDAY & SUNDAY AFTERNOONS: 24th & 25th October 2026

At-home/online workshop over two half days to deepen the practice and consolidate the knowledge gained.

This is where it all comes together! We will take the deep relationships we've created with the plants, and then compare, contrast and analyse the ways we apply them in clinic, with ourselves and in our lives. The second day is all about revisiting the deep animist practices we started during the retreat, to ensure you leave this journey with all the tools you need to continue this way of walking with plants in your own life.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is this an online course?
Kind Of! Most of the classes are online in small groups, but I have worked hard to make this as interactive, dynamic and embodied as possible. You will have your physical journal and herbal learning kit, as well as the 4 day immersive retreat.
What do I get when I sign up?
You will receive a herbal learning kits in the post valued at $350. These include at least 5 bottles of tinctures, packets of tea and raw herbal material, plus a plant connection journal and medicine making supplies.< br/> You’ll also get instant access to the crucial mini-course “The Foundations of Ancient Herbalism”.
Are the classes recorded if I miss one?
There is a recorded class on each plant if you miss the live classes, or want to revisit the content (you will definitely want to do this!). The powerful experiences and observations of the group are key to the depth of this course, and are only available live. If you can’t commit to at least 70% of the live classes, I don’t recommend you join.
How many people are in the course at once?
I’m committed to dynamic, interactive classes, which means I cap each group around 13 people. This means I have to charge a little more than some online teachers; it’s beyond worth it!
What does this require of me?
Aside from the retreat, all you need is 10-15 minutes of your day for personal practice, plus 2 hours per week for the group calls. It works best when you are able to commit to the process (the plants like this better too!) and be fairly stable in your routine. Don’t sign up if you are planning on travelling a lot, are pregnant/postpartum or in a party-hard phase of life. You just won’t be able to tune in to the plant in the way the course requires.
What is your cancellation policy?
Australian Consumer Law does not require me to offer a refund for change of mind, only if the course I deliver is not what was described. HOWEVER I think this is a bit harsh, so I offer the following: I allow a 48-hour grace period after you sign up, where you can get a full refund. I offer a 50% refund up until 20 days before the first class. Once the course has started, if you need to drop out for personal hardship reasons then you can join in a future group to continue your journey.
